Training for life

My approach to training has evolved over time, but the underlying principle has stayed largely the same: to remain strong, capable and physically prepared for whatever life puts in front of me.

Body is where I explore that process through running, strength, hybrid training, recovery, mobility and the lessons that come from continually testing and adapting the body over time.

Training, recover and continual adaptation

Articles and reflections across running, strength, hybrid training, mobility and recovery.

Less about prescribing a perfect routine and more about sharing what I’ve learned through years of training, experimentation, and continual adjustment.

The result of consistency compounded over time

Consistency in Motion is a record of the miles, streaks and milestones accumulated over time.

The focus isn’t on individual performances, but on what sustained effort begins to look like when repeated over years.

THE LONG GAME

I’ve never trained around a single event or short-term goal. Races and challenges come and go, but the broader aim is to keep developing strength, endurance, mobility and resilience over decades rather than weeks.

That also means recognising that more isn’t always better. Training creates the stimulus, but recovery, adaptation and understanding the body are what allow progress to continue. The goal isn’t simply to push harder, but to keep building a body capable of doing hard things for as long as possible.

A capable body is only half the equation
